During these trying times chicken feed can become expensive and the problem most of us are facing is that we all still need eggs including the mom and pop stores down the road who can't get any from their suppliers. I went out of the farming business back here when the pandemic started but there is one thing that hasn't changed and has always proved dependable as a reliable food source for chickens as well as hogs and other livestock and poultry. The USDA foodbank in Verona has to dispose of truckloads of food every week that spoils before the needy can get it. One of there biggest wastes is bread. Folks I mean to tell you this bread is still good enough for people to eat but due to regulations it has to be disposed of. If you can commit to a regular schedule and take what you say you will you can usually make a donation made payable to the foodbank and take as much as you can haul in 1 trip once a week for the month.
