I would love to share my families pickled egg recipe. This recipe has been handed down in our appalachian community for generations. What you need 1 bottle of your favorite louisianna hot sauce 1 quart of apple cider vinegar and 1 pack of whole clove pickling spices. Hard boil appropriate amount of eggs and in a 1 quart sauce pan bring 50/50 hot sauce and apple cider vinegar to a boil then add pickling spices. Let boil for 30 seconds and then simmer for 30 minutes. Pour pickling spices over eggs in a quart jar and then place in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. Tips and Tricks for quail eggs use white distilled vinegar to peel eggs by placing the boiled quail eggs into a bowl of distilled vinegar. To create a hot product add to tast about 1/4 cup of ABC approved clean moonshine.
We won't say exactly where we sourced our jar of Virginia Moonshine but we did try the recipe and found that it was indeed pungent. I talked to my brother about this who runs a food truck and he gave me a recommendation. We went to the ABC store and bought a bottle of Apple Jack Brandy and used the same ratio of 1/4 cup to the quart. Be sure to include this after you have added your pour over mix or it will be too diluted.
Thanks,
Grandma Dynamite.
P.S. I got my nickname after trying to turn away a deputy from one of those new health and welfare checks. He kept insisting to come in so I reached in our mail holder beside the door and then proceeded to light the stick of dynamite we had in the mail holder for emergencies with my cigarette. I handed the deputy the lit sitck of dynamite and said have a nice day son. Well the deputy feeling it was his duty quickly moved away from our home with his dynamite and to tell you the truth I am not sure how he put it out but now unless they call first the county never comes out anymore.
